FINISHES
TENON is textured, waxed and left to age. FRET is smooth and lacquered so a hotel corridor looks the same in year ten. Both are finished by hand.
Tenon · living finishes
Forged, textured, waxed. Unlacquered and meant to age.

Natural Brass
Forged, filed and waxed. Warm satin brass that deepens with handling.

Blackened Steel
Hot-blackened and waxed. Deep charcoal with the hammer marks showing through.

Natural Bronze
Silicon bronze for exterior pieces. Weathers from warm gold to a quiet brown.
Fret · lacquered finishes
Smooth sheet, sealed. Specified for hotels; living finish on request.

Satin Brass
Brushed and lacquered. The FRET standard: warm, even, and it stays that way.

Polished Nickel
Mirror-bright and lacquered. Cool, reflective, hotel-grade.

Blackened Steel, lacquered
The TENON black, sealed smooth for FRET. Deep charcoal without the hammer marks.
Stone

Clear Quartz
Raw-cut points, 4 to 5 inches, lit from within. Pairs with natural brass.

Amethyst
Raw-cut, 4 to 5 inches, lit from within. Pairs with blackened steel.
Stones are natural and raw-cut. No two are alike, and the one on your piece will not match the one in the photograph.
Brass darkens where hands touch it and stays bright where they don't. Blackened steel softens to a warm grey at the edges. Both can be brought back with wax, or left alone.
Pins, wedges, claws, canopies and feet take the same finish as the arm. There are no bright screws on a blackened piece.
Patinas, powder coat and plated finishes are matched to a sample for trade projects. Ask through a trade account.
